Robert Young

January 15, 1950 — July 27, 2024

Hudson, MA

Panay Island, the Philippines – Robert age 74, formerly of Hudson, MA, Cocoa Beach, FL and Panay Island, Philippines passed away on July 27 due to complications from a stroke.

Born in Bellefonte, PA he attended local schools in NJ, PA, and DE before his family moved to Hudson, MA in 1961. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1967 and put himself through Franklin Institute and Wentworth Institute to earn a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry.

As a member of SuAsCo he sought to improve the water quality of the local rivers. While working for both Digital Equipment Corporation (The Mill) and Northern Telecomm his roles were involved with environmental matters. Ensuring that the water in the computer boards/chip production areas was cleaner when it went out of the building was a source of pride for Robert.

Fond of sailing, he happily moved to east coast Florida in 1978 and generously welcomed all to stay at any of his homes. In 1993 he married Lenilyn Baylon Bautista and referred to her as ‘his bride’, ‘mi esposa’. Robert and Lenilyn realized their dream in 2012 and moved to the Philippines where they had already purchased land and had a home built. They were married for 31 years.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Walter T. and Sophie M. Young (Rozansky).

He is survived by his wife, Lenilyn, her sons in FL: Oliver and Francis Baylon Bautista and their respective wives and children, his siblings Walter Young and wife Kathleen of Titusville, FL, Cynthia Young and life partner Robert Thibault of Hudson, MA, Mark Young and wife Jeannie of Ashland, MA. He has many nieces and nephews predominately in New England and the Philippines.

A Mass was held for Robert in the Philippines followed by a casting ceremony to let go of his spirit and spread his ashes in the sea, as Robert wished.
