Rod Snow, 58, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, April 3rd at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Monica A. (Young) Snow of Hudson.
Rod was born and raised in Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland, son of the late Charles Snow and survived by his mother, Amy (Payne) Snow of Newfoundland. He has resided in Hudson the past 30 plus years and was currently employed by One Beacon Insurance Co. of Canton as a software programmer for many years. Besides spending time with his family, Rod enjoyed his frequent motorcycle rides with his wife Monica and also their shared interest in taking trips to the National Parks. He was an avid skier, enjoying the downhill slopes of Wachusett Mountain and the cross country trails at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge in Sudbury. He enjoyed jogging, especially at Gates Pond and was a member of the Fitchburg Table Tennis Club
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Angela Snow and her husband Osama Youssef of Utah, Theresa Snow of Chelsea and his son, Charles Snow of Somerville. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Lorraine Major of Newfoundland, Nancy Van Der Meulen of Belgium, Viney Rose of Alberta, Canada; his brother, Edward Snow of Newfoundland and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of Rod's life will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Matthew Church, 105 Southville Road, Southboro, MA. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, April 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com).
