Roger Warren Moore, 90, of St. Charles, Illinois, formerly of Charlton and Hudson, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at his home at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles.
Born in Boxborough, MA, he was the son of the late Lester and Fannie (Wetherbee) Moore. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Campbell) Moore to whom he was married for 60 years.
He lived in Hudson until moving to Charlton 16 years ago. He has resided at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles, IL since January 4, 2010.
Roger enjoyed trap shooting and held numerous awards in the sport. He worked as a truck driver for a car carrier company for 33 years. He had the honor of being the first driver in the nation to haul cars with a tandem truck trailer. Roger held a pilots license for small planes and enjoyed taking family and friends up for a ride. He enjoyed music and played the guitar. Roger was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He leaves one son, Wayne Moore of Warwick, RI, and two daughters, Connie Dreiling of St. Charles, IL, and Maureen Searl of Marlboro, MA: 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was the father of Deborah Russell, who died in 1980, and grandfather of the late Melissa Moore.
