Roland A. Kay, 76, of Berlin, formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, July 20 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (McFarlane) Kay of Berlin.
Mr. Kay was born and raised in Concord, son of the late Roland E. and Myrtle (Bryant) Kay. He attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Concord H.S. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He resided in Hudson for 50 years until moving to Berlin in 2005. He was employed as a superintendent of the Merrimack Plaza Apartments in Lowell for 14 years and was an interior and exterior painter as a member of the Newton Local Painters Union for over 16 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Boston and was skilled at floor tiling and woodworking.
He is survived by his children, Marlene Kay of Hudson, Roland A. Kay Jr. and wife Paula of Worcester, Deborah Goulet of Nashua, NH; his step-sons, Roy J. Kay and Ronald Kay, both of Worcester, Rodney Kay and wife Lorrie of Athol and Randy Kay of Shirley. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Kay of Lee, NH; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Donna Mazoroski.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Wednesday, July 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
