Ronald G. Blood, 65, of Hudson, died on Thursday, April 18th at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen (McGrane) Blood of Hudson.
Ronald was born in Framingham, son of the late George "Jeep" and Ruth (Garcia) Blood. He was a graduate of Hudson High School. Prior to being stricken ill, he was employed by Fafard Companies of Ashland for 30 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He served proudly in the U.S. Army, 82nd Engineers from 1966 to 1969 and is a Vietnam Veteran. Ronald was a life member and two time past Commander of the VFW Post 1027, Hudson. Besides his highly proficient operating of heavy equipment, Ronald was known for his pride and passion of the VFW and served on many committees, boards and was the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kenneth Blood and his wife Fatima of Hudson, Kimberly Andrews and her husband Anthony of Hudson, Ronald Blood Jr. and his wife Andrea of Hudson; his 8 grandchildren, Katelyn, TJ, Kaysha, Mackenzie, Cameron, Danica, Ryan and Brady and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Sawyer and her husband Ronald of Hudson, Mary Jane Riccardi and her husband Bob of Chula Vista, CA and his brother, John Blood and his wife Mary of Hudson. He was the brother of the late Janie Blood.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22nd at 10:30 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
