Ronald L. Vavruska, 82, of Berlin, MA, formally of Acton, MA, died on Friday, November 4, 2022. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Jeanne Vavruska.
Besides his wife, Ron is survived by his 3 sons, Ronald Vavruska Jr. and his wife Michelle Delemarre of Washington, DC, Chris Vavruska and his wife Sandra of Westford, MA and Craig Vavruska and his wife Jeanne of Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas and Matthew Vavruska, two step great grandchildren Charlie Jeanne and Killian; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Joseph Vavruska of New Hampshire and Charles Vavruska of New York.
Ron was born and raised in the Queens, New York, son of the late Charles and Marie (Stofft) Vavruska. He attended local schools. Following high school he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from NYU and later received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Adelphi University on Long Island, NY. He began his long career as an electrical engineer with AT&T and for a short time as a civilian employee with the Department of the U.S. Navy. He joined the Federal Aviation Administration and spent 37 years as an Electrical Certifier until his retirement. After retirement, he consulted with numerous companies in the aviation community. In addition, Ron served as a member of the Planning Board for the Town of Berlin.
Ron was a happy man who lived a long life. He enjoyed golfing, history and his family. He was an award-winning home brewer and member of the Boston Wort Processors. Both Ron and Jeanne enjoyed cruising; cherishing the many cruises and vacations they shared together. Most of all he loved the time they spent together. He always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially later with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed but remembered always by everyone who loved and knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 5-8pm on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A service and celebration of Ronald’s life will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Massachusetts Avenue, Acton, MA.
