Rose R. Scafidi

Rose Rita (Collura) Scafidi, 92, passed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Scafidi.

Rose was born on February 3, 1932, in Waltham, MA, to her late parents John and Anne (DiPietro) Collura. She was raised in Waltham MA, and a Graduate of Waltham High School in 1950. It was there when she met Dick and the two became inseparable and married on June 22nd of 1952. Rose spent the first part of her married life in Waltham raising three daughters before residing to Hudson in 1960, and finally added two boys to make the family complete.

Rose is survived by her children Pat Chamberlain and her husband Mike, Nancy Hauver and her husband Dave, Elaine Wood and her husband Billy McKenna, Richard Scafidi Jr and his wife Susan, and Michael Scafidi and his wife Karen. Her grandchildren Lisa Chamberlain, Jeffrey Wood, Michael Chamberlain Jr, Jamie (Wood) Farrar, Sara (Chamberlain) Welch, Bryan Hauver, Kevin Hauver, Richard Scafidi, Alyssa (Scafidi) Hussey, Jason Scafidi, Derek Scafidi, Brett Scafidi and Julia (Scafidi) Sweeney, along with her remaining siblings Frank Collura, Mary Pavone, Josephine Costello, John Collura and Ann Burke, and her brother-in-law Bernie Scafidi and his wife Pat.

Rose is predeceased by her siblings Pete Collura, Sally Generoso and Madeline Albanese.

After raising her family and working for over 20 years at BayBank she finally enjoyed her retirement years in Naples Florida. She loved golfing, traveling, and spending time with friends along with her morning ritual of doing the daily crossword puzzle. She also enjoyed watching all Sports, but her favorite TV show was a good Hallmark movie. She was an active member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, MA. Rose’s biggest passion however was spending time with her 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 

 Calling Hours for Rose will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 8:30am-9:30am, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Memorial Mass will follow at 10am at Saint Michael’s Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street in Hudson, MA, for Committal Services.
