Rosa Vilma "Mima" Menéndez de Vega
Devoted mother, wife, and caregiver
Rosa Vilma Vega, 76, died Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, with her family by her side.
Rosa was born September 1st, 1947, in El Congo, El Salvador to José Pleites and Evangelina Menéndez de Pleites
She was the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters.
In June of 1968, Rosa married Lucio Roberto Vega. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two children; José and Carmen.
Rosa worked as a Housekeeper in a Nursing Home until 2012 and was known by her colleagues for her big heart, as she would visit every resident/patient and come home crying when one of them had passed.
She was full of life and always happy. She enjoyed caring for others and was so giving...she always enjoyed helping the less fortunate. She loved cooking, sewing, and caring for the flowers in her garden.
Rosa is lovingly survived by:
Her husband Lucio Roberto Vega;
Her son José Roberto Vega, daughter-in-law Tania Nunes Vega, and grandson Giovanni Nunes Vega;
Her daughter Carmen Evangelina Vega De León; son-in-law Walter Giovanni De Leon, and grandson Sergio Anthony Flores, III;
and two brothers who reside in El Salvador (Ovidio and Luis Pleites).
Rosa especially will be remembered for the numerous lives she touched and for being so caring and nurturing to everyone who crossed her path.
At the family's request, a private service will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 2 p.m. Rosa will then be buried at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA.
The family wishes to thank UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus for its thoughtful service and tender care.
