She was 66, and pre-deceased by her loving husband, Richard, that passed away in 2009. Born in Marlborough, the daughter of Richard Ambrose O'Brien and Marian (Stebbins) O'Brien, she was sister to Ann Van-Annon, (deceased), Margaret Auger, (deceased), Dorothy and husband Thomas Braley of Northborough, Mary and husband Edward Laurette of Marlborough, Helen and husband Paul Zicolella of South Yarmouth, Richard and wife Cressida O'Brien of Auburn, and Robin and husband Bernard LeBlanc of Lancaster. Ruth lived in Northborough throughout her young life and was a graduate of Hudson Catholic High School. She worked in the business field for several years, before meeting and marrying Cappy (Richard) and moving to Marlborough, then Hudson to raise their family. She rejoined the workforce when her children were older, working for the Town of Hudson in several key positions before settling on Administrator of the Assessor's Office. Working her way through adversity increased her sense of humor, decreased her tolerance of nonsense and enhanced her appreciation of life. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and brother, collecting antiques with her husband and playing with her grandchildren. She was a fierce ally and a trusted friend. Her intelligence, strong will and quick wit was with her to the end. She will be profoundly missed.
