Hudson, MA
Ruth Ann (Paulino) Mangini, a lifelong resident of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 12, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of Richard J. Mangini, to whom she married almost 60 years ago, on October 20, 1951.
Born in Clinton, MA on June 27, 1931, to Dominic and Josephine (Kehoe) Paulino, she was educated in the Hudson Catholic School system, transferring to Hudson High School, graduating with the class of 1948.
Although her priority was being a wonderful homemaker for her husband and children, Ruth thoroughly enjoyed her years at the Hudson Dress Shop, a former downtown business, as a sales associate. Ruth also loved to sing and enjoyed the time she spent as an "alto" with the St. Michaels' choir. She enjoyed entertaining and will be remembered for her famous Christmas open house gatherings. She enjoyed many hobbies; however, her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her devoted and loving children, Joyce E (Mangini) Terrio and her husband Paul of Norfolk, MA, John D. Mangini and his wife Jane of Milford, MA and Michael P Mangini and his wife Karen of North Grafton, MA. She also is survived by her adoring grandchildren, Rebecca (Terrio) Tefft and her husband Matthew of Uxbridge, Jessica Terrio of Norfolk, Jennifer Mangini of Newton, Julieanne Mangini of Worcester, Joseph Mangini of Sutton , Ryan Mangini of Milford and Mark Mangini of North Grafton. She also leaves a loving great granddaughter, Samara Grace Tefft of Uxbridge. Ruth is survived by two sisters, Anne Paulino of Hudson and Josephine (Paulino) Chartier of Bridgewater. In addition, she leaves two brothers-in-law, Manual Cardoza of Hudson and Donald Chartier of Bridgewater and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeacesed by her sister Mary (Paulino) Cardoza and her brother John "Jack" Paulino.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 18th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
