Sandra Elaine Raponi

Sandra Elaine (Sortman) Raponi, 81, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, in Hudson, Massachusetts. She was a beloved wife to the late Daniel J. Raponi.

Sandra was raised in Springfield, Ohio and Ithaca, New York by the late Juanita and Robert Sortman. Sandra met her husband at Ithaca High School. She worked as a dental hygienist after attending Broome Community College before starting a family in Hudson, Massachusetts.

In Hudson, Sandra cared for her community by becoming an avid member of the Hudson Garden Club. She was appointed to the town Conservation Commission and elected to the Board of Selectmen. Her contributions helped shape the town she loved so dearly. 

A lover of history and culture, Sandra found joy in travelling the world and visiting archaeological sites across Egypt and Italy. These journeys ignited her passion for learning about ancient civilizations while creating cherished memories with family and friends who accompanied her on these adventures.

Sandra is survived by her only son, Douglas Raponi and his wife Ruth Raponi of Beverly, Massachusetts. 

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St, Hudson, Mass 01749, is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
