Shawn M. Gouveia

Shawn M. Gouveia, 50, of Framingham, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Iowa City, Iowa, where he had been living for the past five years.

Shawn was born and raised in Framingham, MA, and graduated from Framingham North High School with the class of 1992.

Shawn is survived by his mother Bonnie (Kampersal) Gouveia of Framingham, MA, and his father Albert J. Gouveia and his wife Denise (Chiasson) Gouveia of Hudson, MA; his brother Christopher Gouveia of Upton, MA; his sister Jacquelyn Chamberlain and her husband Michael of Boylston, MA; and his nieces and nephews Paige, Faith, Brandon and Nicholas Gouveia, Thomas and Lillian Chamberlain.

Shawn worked for many years as a Special Needs Instructor in the Framingham Public, Millbury Public, and Grafton Public School Systems - a career which allowed his kindness, compassion and charisma to show. He was an avid fan of New England sports teams, especially the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. He was well-known for his culinary talents, and loved cooking for his family and friends. Shawn enjoyed going to Maine, fishing, camping and coaching his nephews in baseball.

Calling Hours for Shawn will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 10am-12pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Service will following calling hours beginning at 12pm on Friday, September, 6, 2024, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA, for Inurnment Services.
