Shirley W. (White) Brissette, 83, of Berlin, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 13th surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Berlin. She was the loving wife of 24 years to the late Everett F. Brissette who died in 2008.
Shirley was born and raised in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Carl S. and Helen V. (Zoby) White. She has resided in Berlin since 1962 and spent 25 years as a bookkeeper with The Grille Restaurant in Northboro until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Parish in Berlin.
Shirley took great pride in the care of her home. She especially enjoyed caring for her many gardens and devoting other time to various yard chores. Most of all, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished all the special times she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will truly be missed and remembered by all.
She is survived by her children, Theresa Bullard and Charlie, Debra Dees and Pete, Michele Mayer and Frank, Michael Furmanick Jr. and Patti, James Furmanick, Jeffrey Furmanick and Erin; her former husband Michael Furmanick Sr. and was predeceased by her son Richard L. Haley in 1980. She is also survived by her step-son, Robert Brissette and Robin; her 5 sisters; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her two brothers.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 16th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, (Rt. 62), Berlin. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Berlin. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Saturday, Aug. 16th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
