Silvestre A. Fernandes, 85, of Hudson, died Monday, March 8th at Whittier Rehab Hospital in Westboro. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laurinda (Figueiredo) Fernandes of Hudson.
He was born in Loivos, Portugal, son of the late Albano and Judite Fernandes and served in the Army of Portugal. He worked for many years as a mason and most recently was employed by the Amorello Construction Co. in Worcester until retiring. He was a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Anna Sullivan and her husband Brian of Arlington; his two grandsons, Scott Sullivan of South Boston, Adam Sullivan of Medford and one great grandchild, Nora Sullivan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday March 12th at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
