Stanley P. Stanechewski, 79, of Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 13 at his son's residence in Southboro. He was the husband of the late Joan (Murphy) Stanechewski who died in 1999 for 45 years.
Born in Hudson, son of the late Stanley and Jennie (Karvoski) Stanechewski, he attended local schools and was employed as a machinist for the Hudson Broach Co. the former Lapointe Machine Co. of Hudson until he retired. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy and member of the Hudson V.F.W. where he served on the Board of Directors. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Stanechewski of Southboro, Lee Stanechewski of Hudson, Paul Stanechewski of Lutz, FL, Debra Ryan of Marlboro and Theresa Stanechewski of Framingham. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Jeanne Stanechewski of Marlboro, Barbara Rieth of Lutz, FL and Delores Houchin of California; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David Stanechewski who died on March 9, 2008.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
