Theresa M. (MacLellan) Filipe, 94, a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 72 years of the late Eugene Filipe.
Theresa is survived by her children, Mary Mathews of Hudson, Lorraine Plummer and husband Dan of North Carolina, Cathy Ricci and husband Paul of Long Island, NY, Ellen MacGilvray and husband Richard of Hudson, Virginia Benson and husband David of North Carolina, Daniel Filipe and wife Karen of Texas and Ruth Matthews and husband Glen of Leominster; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughters Linda Filipe, Elizabeth Filipe, Joan Filipe and Bernadette Keefe of Maine.
Theresa lived her life, and raised her children, in the home where she was born on Carter Street in Hudson, MA. She was a devout Catholic, and a faithful parishioner of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson. She sang in the church choir for Saint Michael’s and the former Christ King Church. Theresa loved watching movies, especially The Sound of Music, and would watch movies daily with her children. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her children, and later all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4-7pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.
