Thomas J. Murphy II -80, of Clinton, died Sunday, Feb. 10 at UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester.
He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Johnson) Murphy who died in 1986.
He was born in Marlboro, son of the late Thomas J. and Malvina (Waitkwicz) Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam, serving in the Coast Guard during WWII and later the Army during Korea and Vietnam. He fought in the memorable Korean battle of the "Chosin Reservoir", in 1950. He was a member of the Hudson V.F.W., Hudson Amvets and "The Chosin Few", U.S. Army Chapter.
He is survived by his children, Anna Hanrahan, Michael, Thomas J. III, Susan and Patrick Murphy. He also leaves his 3 brothers, Leo, Walter and Francis Murphy; his 6 sisters, Jean Simard, Mary Ellen Seay, Carol Laviolette, Rita Millet, Kathy Gregoire and Helen LeBlanc; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and his companion and friend, Jeanne McAvene.
He was the brother of the late John Murphy.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street Hudson MA. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
