Tim Gruttner, 65, died unexpectedly of natural causes at home on 12/24/24 in Hudson, MA. Born and raised in Boston, MA, Tim eventually settled in the Marlborough/Hudson area.
Tim was passionate about his work as a recovery coach and his role as a lector at his church, St. Michael's in Hudson. He had a deep faith in God living a life of faith, love, and service. Tim was the beloved identical twin of Tom Gruttner, sharing a remarkable and unbreakable bond, and supporting him after Tom suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. He loved spending time hiking with his dog, Samson ("Sammy"), golfing, and working out. He was especially proud of completing the Boston Marathon several years ago. Tim was an avid Boston sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews - playing baseball, attending their sporting events, and having cookouts.
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Jack Gruttner and Janet (Mahoney) Gruttner of Boston. He is survived by his 3 siblings: Karen Lynch and her husband, Chuck, of Franklin; Tom Gruttner of Lexington; and Heidi Boyden and her husband, Mark, of Southborough. Tim is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Dannah Kelley, Lauren Kiley, Jack Boyden, Gavin Boyden, and Harrison Boyden, along with 2 great-nephews, Jace Emma and William Kelley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim's life will be celebrated at a mass at St. Michael's Church, 23 Manning St, Hudson, MA, at 10:00 am on January 10, 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to help provide a home and care for people living with brain injury via mail or phone to Supportive Living, Inc., 9 Oakland St, Lexington, MA 02420(781-937-3199).
