Verna A. (Tarbell) Donovan, died on November 25th at Coleman House in Northborough. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip J. Donovan.
Verna was born in Hudson, MA in 1921, daughter of the late Airmet and Bernice (Stone) Tarbell, She attend school in Hudson and went on to secretarial school at Burdett College in Boston. She was employed by LaPointe Machine and Tool in Hudson, where she met Phil. She raised her family in Hudson and Hampton Beach, NH, before retiring to Boynton Beach, Fl. in 1981.
Verna was a light in her husband, children, grandchildren and extended families lives. Her calm welcoming manner and laugh were a joy and she will be dearly missed. She enjoyed music, travel, word puzzles and cards. She was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her son, Daniel F. Donovan and his wife, Mary June of Clinton, her daughter, Marie V. Soroka and her husband, Walter of Alaska. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Holly Sullivan of Southborough, Stephen Soroka of Alaska, Julie Dumais of Clinton and Kelly Zerveskes of Newmarket, NH, as well as 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Tarbell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral home service at 11 a.m. in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hudson.
