Victor Cook, 87, long time resident of Hudson, died Tuesday, March 30th at Bolton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion (Rose) Cook for 43 years who died in 2003. Victor is survived by his two nephews, Joseph Cook of Skokie, IL, Kenneth Cook of Sweeden, ME and his three nieces, Janet Ready of Marlboro, Diane McDevitt of Elwood City, PA and Susan Honan of Southboro. He was the brother of the late Joseph Cook.
Victor was born in Framingham, son of the late Stephen and Annie (Kronalis) Cook and worked as a finishing technician for several local companies including LaPointe's Machine Shop of Hudson until retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army, Company F 147th Infantry Regiment. He was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater were along with his regiment, helped secure the Island of Iwo Jima following the Marine invasion in 1945. Victor took great pride in assisting many Veterans' Affairs and was well known by his Peter's Grove neighbors in Hudson for the many kind acts he enjoyed doing for them. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and especially looked forward to the frequent trips he shared with his wife Marion.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 3rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
