Victor E. Dyer, 85, died Friday June 3, 2005 at Sudbury Pines Nursing Home in Sudbury. Born in Atkinson, ME son of the late John H. and Olive Ann (Albert) Dyer. Husband of Pauline (Truchon) Dyer of 64 years. Father of Aurelie Dyer Wallach of Biddeford, ME, Victor Eugene Dyer II of Hamilton, MA, and Mark Dyer of Hudson, MA. Survived by his sisters Madeline Decato of Gilford, NH and Jennie Smith of Laconia, NH and brother of the late George Dyer. Survived by 5 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He served on the Hudson Board of Selectman, the Hudson Housing Authority, and the Bi-Centennial Committee and for many years served as the Town Moderator. He was a member of the Hudson Democratic town committee and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and he was a member and former commander of the Hudson AMVETS. Victor was the former owner of Boyce Hallmark Card Store in Wood Square and Hudson Reality Company. He was instrumental in establishing a music shell in Apsley Wood Park and it was later dedicated in his memory for all the work and accomplishments there. Mr. Dyer was the sole designer of the AMVETS National logo in which he hand carved from wood. He served in the Army in WWII as a sergeant in Normandy, N. France and Rhineland and received the Bronze Star Medal. His funeral will be held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson with a Funeral Mass Monday June 6, 2005 at 10:30AM in St. Michaels Church 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Calling hours will be Sunday June 5, 2005 from 4-8PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH. In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Dyer's memory may be made to Maine Alzheimer's Association, 163 Lancaster Street, Portland, ME 04101
