Viriato Moreira

Viriato Moreira, 67, of Hudson, MA, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He leaves his beloved wife, Ana (Medeiros) Moreira.

Viriato was born and raised in Portugal on the island of Saint Michael, in the Azores. Son of the late Viriato and Maria Moreira. He immigrated to the United States in 2000, settling in Hudson, MA. He was currently working for the Aegean Capitol Company taking care of the building maintenance in their New Hampshire and Brookline, MA facilities. He was a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. He has resided in Lancaster since 2019.

Besides his wife, Viriato is survived by his 3 children; Carlos Moreira and his wife Heather of Lancaster, MA, Joao Paulo Moreira of Lancaster, MA, and Viriato “Vinnie” Moreira and his wife Lindsey of Sterling, MA; his 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Julia and Dylan Moreira, Collin and Owen Moreira; his 2 sisters, Saozinha Goncalves, Filomena Roveredo, both of Saint Michael, the Azores along with his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viriato was an avid soccer fan and very passionate and involved when watching the matches of his beloved Benfica soccer team of Portugal. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Ana as they enjoyed cruises every year to many locations. He loved socializing, telling stories and always had a joke ready to share. Entertaining, and organizing gatherings for both family and friends was a specialty of Viriato and all would look forward to attending. He always enjoyed a good whiskey and espresso following a great meal. He cherished his family, especially later his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA, followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery, Hudson, for committal services.
