Wallace J. Scott Jr., 87, of Templeton, formerly of Phillipston and Hudson, died Wednesday, Aug. 11th at the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne (Hubert) Scott of Phillipston.
Wallace was born in Braintree, son of the late Wallace and Elizabeth (Smith) Scott. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a machinist in the United States Navy. He was employed by the LaPointe Machine & Tool Co. in Hudson as a machinist for many years until his retirement. He was a member and past Commander of the V.F.W. Post in Hudson and member of the former Knights of Columbus in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Wallace "Jim" Scott III and his wife Cheryl of Phillipston, Carolyn McCulloch, Susan Webster and her husband Daniel and Sherryl Bain and her husband John, all of Templeton. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Holmberg of Lusby, Maryland; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Glenda Wildanger.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14th at 12:00 noon at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14th from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
