William G. Batsford, Sr.

William G. Batsford, Sr.,97, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 with his family by his side.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine J. (Herring) Batsford; his 2 sons: William G. Batsford, Jr. and his wife Rosalinda of AZ and David Batsford and his wife Sarah Cleary of Stow; 5 grandchildren; siblings: Bernard Batsford and his wife Ruth of CA, Virginia Jameson of Maine and Carolyn Raposo of Boxborough and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his brothers: Charles Batsford and Herbert Batsford.

William was a lifelong resident, born and raised in Stow the son of the late William J. and Nettie M. (Reynard) Batsford.  He graduated Hale High School before serving his country in the US Navy where he served in WWII.  Upon returning to the states, he met and married his wife and returned to Stow to raise his family.  William loved his family, enjoyed farming and he attended many county fairs winning many awards.  He loved the Boston Celtics, the Red Sox and playing endless card games with Catherine.  He will be missed by all those who knew him.
