William E. Bernard, 82, of Haverhill, MA, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, with his beloved family by his side.
William was born in Lawrence, MA on December 21, 1936, the son of the late Wilfred and Irene (DesRuisseau) Bernard. He graduated high school in Lawrence and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his Nation on the U.S.S. Aucilla, during the Korean War. William continued serving his community as a Firefighter for the city of Lawrence, retiring after a long and successful career. William moved to Haverhill in 1990, where he still currently resided.
Bill loved to work in his yard and was a former member of the North Shore Auto Club.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Lori A. Regis and her husband Mark of Hudson; his son, Paul J. Bernard and his wife Jennifer of Mont Vernon, N.H.; a brother, Herbert Bernard and his wife Diane; two sisters, Teresa Locke and Elaine Watton and her husband Joe; four grandchildren, Gregory, Katie & Emily Regis and William Bernard and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Bernard.
