William E. Davenport, 68, of Hudson, MA died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Janet (Harvey) Davenport of Hudson and was former husband to the late Virginia (Marabello) Davenport who died in 1996.
He was born in Bristol, RI son of the late William and Kathleen (White) Davenport.
He was a graduate of Pawtucket H.S., class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve. He was employed by Durand Chevrolet of Hudson, MA as a salesman. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Hudson Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. 959 and was active as a coach for the Hudson Youth Hockey Organization in the early 1970's.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son Michael Davenport and his wife Charlotte of New Durham, NH, his daughter Janet Collier and her husband Richard of Hudson, MA, 6 grandchildren, Michael and Heather Davenport, and Patrick, Ryan, Sean and Courtney Collier. He is also survived by his 9 step children, Janice Pack, Joanna Poirier, Jodie Zindle, Jacquelyn Linskey and John, Jaimie, Jason, Jerome, and Joshua McKean.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, March 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Bernadette's Church 266 Main street Northborough, MA. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
