William J. "Billy" Grasso

William J. "Billy" Grasso, 63, of Marlborough, MA, and Sandwich, MA, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Billy was born in Marlborough, MA, on January 17, 1961, to his late parents William James Grasso and Judith Carol (Johnson).

Billy is survived by his brothers Thomas Grasso, and James Grasso and his longtime partner Tori McGinnes; his sisters Cathy Grier and her husband Jeff, and Jane Grasso. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Grier and his wife Lisa and their daughters Lila and Penny, Mary Grier, Jolie Grasso, Jenna Grasso, Will Biggins, and Sabrina Biggins and her son Isaiah; along with many other relatives and friends.

Billy was born and raised in Marlborough, MA. He attended local schools, and graduated from Marlborough High School with the Class of 1980. He worked for the Marlborough Department of Public Works and later he worked for Lafreniere Construction of Marlborough for many years.

Billy was a member of the Marlboro High School football team his 4 years in high school and was a member of the 1979 High School Central Mass Super Bowl champs. Following high school he became a member of the Marlboro Shamrocks. He played for almost two decades with the shamrocks and was very proud to be coached by his dad "Bumpa" Grasso and have his brother Tommy as a teammate for most of those years. Football was his passion. Saturday was Collage Football on television, Sunday was the NFL games and occasional trip to Foxborough to attend the Pats game. He enjoyed having family and friends over for grilling and just sharing time with all his family and friends. He especially was fond of all his nieces and nephews who fondly referred to him as "Uncle B". Following his playing days Billy enjoyed attending the Shamrock games and was always accompanied by his dog "Sabby". Sandwich became his second home and spent many summer days at Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, He was well known by all the local residents of the beach as they came so familiar with his friendly short chats and his unique wave and smile as he arrived and left for the day. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother and loyal friend to all who loved and knew him.

Calling Hours for Billy will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 2pm-4pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Celebration of Life will be held following Calling Hours on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 4pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in East Sandwich followed by urn burial with his parents in Sandwich Town Cemetery, Sandwich, MA at a later date.
