William R. Keefe, 82, of Marlboro, former long time resident of Hudson, died Tuesday, Jan. 18th at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Pay) Keefe of Marlboro.
William was born and raised in Framingham, son of the late John and Mary (Reedy) Keefe. He attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of Framingham Academy High School. He was honorably discharged from U.S. Navy after serving from 1948 to 1952 as a Korean War veteran. William was employed by U.S. Natick Army Labs in their Research and Development Department from 1951 to 1985 when he retired.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and was looking forward to the birth of two additional great grandchildren. He looked forward to gatherings with his family and especially enjoyed sailing the Cape Cod Islands with his daughter Colleen and her husband Peter. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, William Keefe of Townsend, Russell Keefe of Hudson; his three daughters, Mary Smith of Florida, Colleen Bisi of Marlboro, Joanne Carroll of Missouri; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his 3 brothers; 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
