Hudson, MA William Anthony Li Petri Sr., 85, a life long resident of Hudson, died on Monday, May 2nd at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 63 years to the late Doris (Bombard) Li Petri who died in 2009. Doris was the love of his life and his soul mate.
William was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Jusseaume) Li Petri. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as an MP in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at a P.O.W. Camp in Maine. He worked as an inspector for LaPointe's Machine Shop in Hudson and later was employed by the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
He is survived by his three children, Diane Dexter and her husband Bill of Hudson, Doris Strom and her husband Dean of Bolton and William Li Petri Jr. and his wife Debbie of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his three sisters, Martha Donahue, wife of the late Harold Donahue of Bolton, Gloria Li Petri of Hudson, Barbara Bonazzoli and her husband Richard of Hudson; six grandchildren, Annette Dexter, Michael Dexter and his wife Linda, Andrew Dexter and his wife Dyanna, Michelle MacDonald and her husband Eugene, Eric Richards and his partner Tara, Cassandra Lipetri; 8 great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his special nephew and niece, David Bonazzoli and Nancy Bonazzoli and many other nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 5th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
