William W. Poland Sr., 72, of Berlin, died Friday, May 28th at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He is survived by his daughter, Candice Clark and her husband Thomas of Leominster and his three sons, Ronald Poland and his wife Susan of Shirley, Robert Poland of Florida and William Poland Jr. and his wife June of Berlin. He is also survived by his brother Robert Poland of Florida and seven grandchildren.
William was born in Marlboro and raised in Northboro, son of the late Willard W. and Arlene (Blakley) Poland. He resided in Northboro and Berlin most of his life and was a heavy equipment operator for many years as a member of the IUOE, Local 4 Union of Lexington until retiring in 2000.
A graveside service at the Howard Street Cemetery in Northboro will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William may be made to: MSPCA-Angel, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
