William J. Power, 82, of Hudson, former long time resident of Framingham, died Sunday, Nov. 11th at his residence with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Wanda A. Dwyer-Power of Hudson and was predeceased by his first wife, the late Dr. Marianne Power in 1994.
William was born and raised in Boston, son of the late Thomas and Irene (McKenna) Power. He attended local schools and received his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University of Boston. He later received his Master's Degree from Lesley University of Cambridge. William was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force until being honorably discharged in July of 1952. He was employed as an engineer for many years by the former Conam Testing Labs of Auburn until his retirement.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Randall K. Power and his wife Alexandra of Wakefield; his daughter, Jennifer Penwell of Yarmouth; his three step-children, Patricia A. Nicols and her husband George of Holden, Teresa J. Maher and her husband Thomas of Boxboro and Debra J. Cook and her husband David of Lufkin, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Penwell, Dylan Power, Angela Beaudoin, Sara and Joseph Edie, Robert and Thomas Morton, Amy and Julie Nicols and four great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 15th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove Street, Framingham, MA. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Wednesday, Nov. 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
