Winifred S. (Rocks) Doherty, 91, of Hudson, died Saturday, Oct 6th at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Marlboro surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Patrick J. Doherty who died on Aug. 29, 2012.
Winifred was born in Ireland, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Winifred (McMenamin) Rocks. She has been a long time resident of Hudson and resided in Boston for a short time prior to moving to Hudson. She was employed as an administrator for many years for several Insurance companies in Boston until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Winifred was predeceased by her infant son Alan Doherty and will be lovingly remembered by her twin sister, Eileen Rogers of Canada; her three sisters, Margaret Lehnert, Angela Cooke and Esme McCarthy, all of England and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Tuesday, Oct. 9th from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral mass on Tuesday, Oct. 9th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
