Yoshiko (Takegami) Sefton, 93, of Berlin, passed away peacefully, at her home, on Saturday, November 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She joins her husband of 21 years, Edmund C. Sefton Sr, who passed away in 1974.
Amongst her many survivors, she leaves behind two sons, Edmund C. Sefton, Jr. and his wife Dorcas of Stow and Ted H. Sefton of Hubbardston; two daughers, Keri T. Sefton of Bolton and Barbara Sefton of Ashland, NH; eight grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Yoshiko was the last surviving and youngest of six children of the late Ichimatsu Takegami and Gen Yamamoto. She was born and raised in the Asakusa section of Tokyo, Japan on March 13, 1924. Yoshiko and Edmund moved around throughout their years as a Military family before eventually settling in Bolton. After Edmund’s untimely passing in 1974, Yoshiko moved to Berlin in 1976 where she founded and operated Shiro Japanese Restaurant until she closed in 2013 at the age of 89. She loved running the restaurant and missed it everyday. Yoshiko enjoyed golfing, reading and travel.
