Carmen Hale (Morency), age 38, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22 following a long and courageous battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC). She was married to Brian, the love of her life, and mom to Sophia Irwin. Carmen worked as an Executive Assistant until her illness forced her to retire. She was an accomplished painter and photographer, enjoyed other creative arts and gift giving. Carmen was a world traveler, especially taking many trips to Disney World, most recently one that the whole family enjoyed with her. Her annual trip to the family cottages on Long Island, ME was a highlight of the summer for her as a child and especially as an adult.
An avid supporter in the MBC Community, Carmen was honored by a few different groups around the country. She was also invited to share her story at Fenway Park on Boston radio for a Jimmy Fund fundraiser with one of her Dana Farber doctors.
Carmen's faith and hope enabled her to live life fully, shining above her circumstances; her grace, encouragement and generosity were inspiring and endeared her to countless people.
In addition to Brian and Sophia, she leaves her parents Paul & Dale Morency of Epsom, NH, her brother Ethan Morency and fiance Cassie Isabelle of Deerfield, NH, Brian’s parents Paul & Louise Hale of Hudson, MA, brother-in-law David and wife Ginny & their children Isaac, Annabelle, Clementine, & Felicity of Saucier, MS, friend and former husband Ryan Irwin of Burlington, MA and his family, all on the West Coast. She leaves behind many “Besties” and “Peaches”, some of her fond names for us all. She will be dearly missed. #stageivneedsmore, #domorestageiv, #dontignorestageiv.
Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of her life which will be held at Grace Church, 353 River Road in Hudson, MA on Sunday, May 23rd at 2 pm under the tent. Masks and social distancing are required. In honor of Carmen’s love for Disney, feel free to wear anything Disney you might have.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to
