Matthew Marcus Moran,35

Houston Tx.- Matthew "Matt" Moran of Houston, Texas and formerly from Boylston and Fitchburg, Ma. passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2021.

Matt was born in Harrisburg. Pa. on August 21,1985.He was the son of Peter W. and Emilie A.  Moran and older brother of Mallory.  Matthew  grew up in Fitchburg until age nine and the rest of his youth in Boylston. He lived in Houston the last four years of his life. He was excelling in welding school until January of 2020 when he became very ill and almost succumbed to a respiratory illness, retrospectively professionally suspected to be one of the first patients  in the country to be victim of COVID-19.

Matthew attended Julie Country Day School in Leominster, Ma. and Boylston  Elementary School. He graduated from St. John's High School of Shrewsbury, Ma. in 2004.  He attended college at both Western New England College and The Art Institute of New England. Prior to welding training, he worked in retail stores in Fitchburg, Clinton, and Houston.

Matt always held an interest in the arts, whether it be music, poetry, or drawing. The arts were his medium for self expression. Matt's favorite place was the family log cabin on Garland Pond in Byron, Me. He loved his four wheeler, traveling the logging roads of Western Maine as well as boating to Sandy Beach on the Pond.

Despite the unwavering love and support of family, relatives, and friends, as well as dedicated behavioral health professionals, Matt's mental illness of Bipolar Disorder coupled with subsequent Substance Abuse proved to be too strong and  too resilient  the last 20 years of his life.

Matt leaves his parents Peter W. and Emilie Arbor Moran of Hudson, Ma.as well as his sister, brother-in-law, and nephew  Mallory Moran Gonzales. John R. Gonzales, and Gavin P. Gonzales, respectively. He also leaves numerous loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from the extended Arbor and Moran families. In Houston, Matthew leaves his Companion,  Sharika Grey and her two children, Avion and M.J.
