Robert L. White, Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side.  He is survived by his wife, Susan M. (Falardeau) White of Hudson; his sons: Robert L. White, Jr. and his wife April of Punta Gorda, FL, Stephen M. White; his daughters: Linda A. DeWolfe and her husband Frederick of Sutton and Kathy M. Frantz and her husband Brian of Sterling; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sister, Claire Hull of Palm Harbor, FL; his loving neighbors and friends, Connie and Sheryl Wharff along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his son, James F. White in 2007 and his brothers: John Gillis, Murray White and Frederick F. White.

Robert was born and raised in Boston the son of the late Henry L. and Anna Mae (Gillis) White where he graduated from Boston Latin High School in 1951.  Six days after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country during the Korean Conflict.  Robert was stationed as a quartermaster on board the USS Perry (DD 844), a Gearing-class destroyer that protected our Atlantic Coast from invading Russian Submarines and travelled to the Mediterranean where the US Navy 6th Fleet would protect Europe as well.  Upon his return, he met and married the mother of his children raising his family in Boston, attended night school at Northeastern University where he studied computer programming.  The family moved to Westborough, Northborough and finally settled on Lake Boon in Hudson in 1987.

He worked for 25 years at Mass Electric in Boston and then for MultiBank in Auburn until his retirement in 1994.  It was through work he met his loving wife Susan in 1970 and they were married in 1994.  They enjoyed boating on the lake in their Stingray, doing yard work and he became quite the handyman being able to fix anything their home needed.  He and Susan owned a cottage down in Dennisport where they would spend the late summers after all the tourists went home.  Robert loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and was so proud of his Scottish heritage.  All the families would travel up to the family farm in Port Hood, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia where his mother was from for family reunions every year.  There his brothers and family would play bagpipes, wear kilts and celebrate.  All who knew Robert will miss him dearly.
